Like marriage, only not

Yay! As of last Tuesday - that's 22 February - me and my Best Beloved/fiancé/sweetheart François are officially PACSed! The Pacte Civil de Solidarité is a French thing, fairly recent (10 years or so); a sort of contract - actually "a form of civil union between two adults (same-sex or opposite-sex) for organising their joint life. It brings rights and responsibilities, but less so than marriage", that's Wikipedia explaining - that means we're officially together. Never mind that we've been together for 7 years now :P But it's a good opportunity to bring the families together and see what happens. I'm still praying for not too much radioactive fallout, but I guess we'll only see that after Saturday lunch. Keeping my fingers crossed, though, because my family in particular is... complicated.

All quiet on the fiction/fanart front, although I do have some stuff brewin'. Good thing I'm on holiday :o)

Nighty-night!

Congrats! I have a similar kind of status/relationship with my husband. Frankly, the idea of a ceremony is far too much headache (mostly for family issues), so we haven't had one. We might eventually, though.

Well, we do plan to get married (in maybe a couple of years) but we're moving out to halfway across France in a few months and we don't have the money yet to not be totally dependant on our families for organisation, so it's a good compromise :o) Seriously, though, if just one Saturday lunch was that difficult to plan and get right for everybody - and we're only inviting 11 people! - what's it gonna be for the actual wedding? I must admit I'm dreading this a bit (the organisation stuff). But we've got time to think about it :o)

Thanks for the congrats! :o]
